Mr. Anthony Goh is the
President of U.S.-Pacific
Rim International, Inc. (USPRI), a Maryland-based
company with a representative office in Beijing
established since July of 2005. USPRI provides
consulting services for U.S. companies in the
following areas:
1) Identify business counterparts, credit
checks and assist in negotiations
2) Develop government relationship and
support
3) Market research and feasibility study,
advise on policies and regulations
4) Representative office registration
and hiring
5) Product sourcing and distributor search
6) IPR search and registration
7) Provide network of professional services
8) Outsourcing services
9) Travel and meeting arrangements, interpretation
and translation
10) Assist Chinese companies to invest, establish
distribution centers
in the U.S.
Mr. Goh is the co-founder of the Maryland-China
Business Council (MCBC, www.mcbc.net),
a Washington-Maryland based organization
serving the business community members that
are interested in exploring business opportunities
in China. It is one of the most active and
widely recognized groups in the mid-Atlantic
region that promotes U.S.-China business,
trade, educational and cultural exchanges.
Mr.Goh served as a Board member and Vice
President from 1995 until 2005 when he relocated
to China. Mr.Goh was responsible for establishing
and developing the relationship between the
council and the Chinese embassy/government,
his effort has greatly benefited MCBC members
and the business community in mid-Atlantic
region throughout the years.Mr.Goh is also
the Vice President of the 106 member-nation
International Wushu Federation, the official
international federation for the sport of
Wushu (the Mandarin term for Kung Fu) recognized
by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
IWUF is headquartered in Beijing, China and
chaired by the Minister of Sport of China.
Supported by the Chinese government, Wushu
will be included as a “Tournament
Event”
in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Mr. Goh's active and wide-ranging involvement
in the Wushu and Chinese cultural events
has afforded him very close association with
various government departments, business
and cultural organizations in China. He is
the founding president of the United States
of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF),
the official US representative for the sport
of Wushu, as well as the 13 member-nation
Pan-American Wushu Federation. As the president
of USAWKF, he organized and produced the
1995 World Wushu Championships held in Baltimore,
Maryland. This tournament, with 54 countries
participating, was the largest Chinese cultural/sports
event that had ever been held in the United
States. Under his leadership and his strong
marketing and organization skills, the USAWKF
is a household name in the Wushu world today.
The annual International Wushu Kungfu Festivals
that he has produced since 1998 are considered
the largest events of their kind in Pan America.
Mr.Goh is a key figure in the development
of the sport worldwide and he is a world-renowned
figure in the sport today.
Mr. Goh is of Chinese
descent, but he grew up and was educated
in Penang, Malaysia. He immigrated to the
United States in 1979 and has operated his
business in Baltimore since 1982, where he
is the owner and operator of Goh's Kung Fu
Schools.
