David DeChant

Mr. DeChant is diplomatic and persuasive with excellent presentation and negotiation skills; and has been helping make exceptional things happen for a long time, especially where excellent public diplomacy and communication skills have been essential. He has extensive experience in the conceptualization and implementation of international marketing and communications strategies and economic development programs that have achieved awesome results with premium quality consumer products and higher education programs and services.

International Marketing and Leadership Development are his primary fields of executive training. He created a comprehensive market intelligence system; and advised dozens of companies on enhancing their export operations, which generated millions in revenues. He has also participated in numerous trade delegations to China. While standing on the Great Wall and in Tiananmen Square, he realized he is a catalyst of international change.

Mr. DeChant strongly believes that international security and prosperity depend on enterprises and organizations that are capable of competing virtually, diplomatically, culturally, politically and economically. He is very comfortable in foreign and cross-cultural settings; and, understands the virtual dynamics of the 21st Century; and is passionate about International Business Diplomacy, especially with Greater China.

He has been a student of East and S.E. Asia since his return from two tours of duty in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine and Embassy Courier. His B.A. Degree, a double major in Asian Area Studies & Mandarin is from American and George Washington Universities; and his MBA specializing in International Marketing to China is from the Merrick School, University of Baltimore (Thesis: “International Business Intelligence ~ The Competitive Advantage,” 1986). At UB, he was the first government official to serve on the Private Sector Advisory Board where his expertise and passion were focused on the International, MBA Curriculum and Re accreditations Committees. As a full-time faculty, David was evaluated by his clients, colleagues and deans for five consecutive years as Outstanding and Extraordinary!
